Week two of my 100 days project and I am having so much fun… it is not hard to draw every single day and for now I have loads of inspiration. I have this page in my sketchbook with a lot of ideas scribbled down, which I will be working out the next few days. Some of these characters were inspired by people I saw on the street. The biking lady below was inspired by a rather chubby guy on a racing bike (including the Lycra outfit) taking me over and looking back to see if he already passed me… I thought it worked better with some waving hair, so I made a women of it. The old grandpa on his scooter was based on a real grandpa I saw on my daily lunch walk. Of course I exaggerated things :)
In the weekend I made my first illustration with gouache, ‘flower lady with hat’. It was both new and fun to work with this new medium. I love being able to mix colours and make gradients in the drawing. It is also very convenient that you can paint over things, if you make a mistake, you can still correct it, and you can change your mind during the process. It is of course a bit different to work with, but I think I did quite ok for a first time. More experiments will follow, I am sure.

I am still having fun with designing outfits, sporty ones or dandy ones, it does not matter. And designing wallpaper is a lot of fun too, I noticed. I think that will not be the last colourful background in this project :)
